Email Correspondence

According to the American Medical Association (A.M.A.), engaging in email correspondence with patients creates, MEDICAL legally, a patient-physician relationship totally devoid of privacy. It is therefore subject to: informed consent prior to each email, explanation and use of security mechanisms, sharing with the patient the names of all persons with potential access to said email message, as well as printing and archiving of all patient and physician emails as part of a prospective or existing medical chart.

Consequently, our office does not engage in email correspondence other than to schedule an appointment. General procedure information and pricing is available if you call our offices and speak to our patient consular. All questions concerning your specific diagnosis, treatment modalities, and costs are discussed exclusively with your doctor in our office following a proper evaluation.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS:

If you need a prescription refill, please contact your pharmacist first, since you may still have refills of which you are unaware. Have the pharmacy contact us with the medication that needs to be refilled. We generally will get these approved the same or next business day.

If it has been more than a year since your last visit, you will need the schedule an appointment. We will not refill prescriptions for patients who do not keep appointments. Evaluating the effects and side effects of prescribed medications is our medical and legal responsibility. In addition, medical technology is always in flux and you may be missing out on an improved treatment modality.

If you live outside of the Bay Area

You may email us photos of the area(s) of concern, and Dr. Binstock will contact you to review your goals and options. This email communication and photos, if any attached, will not be encrypted. If you wish to protect your personal heath information and photos, please contact us directly by US mail.
